About Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Colorado
In 1943, a young woman named Cleo Spurlock Wallace began treating children with speech and language difficulties. What began as a school in the basement of her home has become the Rocky Mountain region’s most comprehensive psychiatric center for children and adolescents. For more than 75 years, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Colorado has provided services and supports for youth with psychiatric, emotional and behavioral challenges in the greater Denver metro area.
Devereux Colorado utilizes a trauma-informed, solution-oriented model of family therapy in which parents and families are seen as active participants in their child’s treatment. This approach capitalizes on the family’s strengths and resources.
Devereux Colorado is proud to serve youth and families in their homes and communities to better meet their needs. Our clinicians and staff utilize evidence-based interventions and strength-based approaches in working with children and families to promote placement stability, health and safety.
In addition, Devereux Colorado is committed to partnering with community providers and agencies to reunify youth and families, prevent out-of-home placements and connect families to long-term supports and resources in their own communities.
