New Haven Programs
Two new vocational programs have been added at the Haven. The first aids clients in obtaining certificates in Culinary Arts from the Emily Griffith Opportunity School while in residential treatment at the Haven. This new program was funded through a grant from the Office of Economic Development-Division of Workforce Development and will bring a new career opportunity to Haven clients who are recovering from addictions.
The second program with the Road Called STRATE is providing an intensive assistance for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) eligible mothers at the Haven Mother’s House I and II and Haven-Harmon House. Road Called STRATE staff members help clients write resumes’, find employment, and serve as a liaison to the workforce community promoting the benefits of hiring Haven clients. The program seeks to find higher paying jobs for Haven clients and also help clients with transportation to job interviews, GED’s, clothing, and donations needed for employment. 100% of Haven clients have employment prior to leaving the residential program and moving into Haven supported housing.
