Peggy E. Montaño is an experienced natural resources attorney based in Denver, Colorado.  She works primarily to solve water issues facing the arid and rapidly growing Western United States.  As a lifelong Westerner, Ms. Montaño has practical and theoretical knowledge of the West’s unique ecology and growth pressures.  She has served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, a Special Assistant to the Attorney General for the State of New Mexico and an advisor to the University of Colorado Natural Resources Law Center. She has represented Colorado State Parks and Colorado Division of Wildlife and is a current state board member of Colorado Audubon.  She has is an outspoken advocate of joining the talents of the Latino and environmental communities. Ms. Montaño is active in the Latino community and has presented on natural resource issues in various fora addressing environmental issues in ethnic communities.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Colorado Woman’s College, is a graduate of the National Hispana Leadership Institute and went on to receive her Juris  Doctorate at the University of Colorado School of Law. Peggy is the proud mother of  Feliz and Miguel.
