Donations

In addition to cash donations which are always appreciated, the Haven can use donations in-kind and volunteers.

You can helpThe Haven needs donations in order to continue to provide support to young mothers and infants in the program. The Haven receives funding for some of the women’s treatment through Community Corrections, Social Services, TANF, Signal, and though Medicaid for the mother’s treatment, but there is no funding source dedicated to care for the needs of infants. In many respects this explains why there are so few programs that are able to care for mothers and their infant children in the same residence.

Donations such as diapers; formula; baby food; baby wipes; gently used infant clothing; new baby bottles or pacifiers; infant blankets; canned goods; infant developmental toys; household items for mothers who are transitioning into independent housing; personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrushes, toothbrushes, etc.; maternity clothes; cleaning supplies; small apartment sized furniture; cribs; gift certificates; towels; sheets; toasters; coffee pots; flatware; pots and pans; glassware; dishes; tickets to cultural or children’s events; and cash donations for the recreation program and baby items are always needed.

The Baby Haven needs volunteers who have experience caring for infants, can commit to 2-3 days a week of volunteer time, and are willing to undergo background checks.

The Haven needs volunteers to assist with landscaping and gardening, especially those who are able to donate plants.

The Haven programs are also seeking donor(s) who are able to donate paint, supplies, and labor to professionally paint the outside trim of any of our three story Victorian buildings.

Thank you for your support.
